Would you like to see your words published in the security industry’s leading magazine?
Why not write for The Circuit. Have a look at the suggestions below, then when you are ready, send your article to us via the link below.
Hints and Tips for Submitting
You don’t need to be an experienced writer to get into print. Here are some guidelines for you to help make writing and submitting your first article easier.
Who can submit an article?
Anyone can submit articles for The Circuit Magazine but they need to be:
- Topical to the security industry
- Written in English
If English is not your first language or you do not feel comfortable as a writer then please do not be put off as we can help out with editing and we do have a proof reading facility.
How long does an article need to be?
We can take articles of any size but as a guide …
- 750 words with 1 hi-resolution image equates to around 1 page
- articles in excess of 1500 words may have to be spread across 2 issues but there are of course exceptions
What do you mean by “high resolution images”?
Images that are not high enough in resolution (300 dpi preferred) will not be published. This may result in your article being carried over to a future issue pending submission of a better image or unfortunately not published at all.
Do you publish all submissions?
We do not promise to publish all articles submitted.
If we do accept an article for publication, we cannot specifiy which edition it will appear in. We do endeavor to get your article in as soon as possible, so long as it meets the requirements listed here.
What factors affect articles getting in?
Pagination – We print a set amount of pages and once that figure is reached then we are full.
Balance of the issue – Each issue is considered in great detail and the articles must balance out. We cannot have an issue full of unarmed combat articles for example so, if you submit one for an issue that is already heavy with certain articles then it may well slip to a future issue.
Deadline day – We have deadlines just like any other publisher so, the sooner you get yours in the sooner we can start planning that issue and the better chance it will have of making it to print.
What do I get from submitting an article?
We do not pay people to write for us but neither do we charge. What contributors do get are their contact details, company logo and a small bio about themselves at the end of the article. This will give you great exposure throughout the industry and who knows what that may lead to.
Many of our contributors like to place their published articles on their own websites and we are fully supportive of this, all we ask is that you give the magazine a mention on your site.
