The argument is made that once terrorism is eradicated, things will go back to normal. Will freedom and security return to pre-modern alert status? Decisions are made in favor of security because without security, there can be no freedom. But there can be security without freedom. Protectors and the Recording Process – Don’t get complacent, don’t get caught out!
Once you facilitate the movement of getting the protectee to the recording studio, your evening might well consist of a whole lot of hurry up and wait. Unless you were hired to play the drums, which is pretty unlikely, you just need to make sure that you are not in the way. With that said, getting out of the way doesn’t mean clocking out mentally. As protectors, we have to always remain in the moment, because Murphy’s Law will strike the minute you let your guard down.

We must learn to recognize the signs of people at risk and intervene before they move to the point of crisis and ultimately violence. The model I employ for this is the D5, short for Deter, Detect, Deny, Delay and Defeat. These are the essential steps to be included in any Active Shooter Response Plan.
