Dubai Police enhances ties with the UK with “Smart. Secure. Together” campaign
Launched in January 2018, Dubai Police has released its new corporate identity to ensure the highest rates of security, safety, and happiness to its UK tourists and expatriates.
The new corporate identity, which marks 100 years since the birth of Dubai’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed, is set to strengthen Dubai’s relationship with the UK through its “Smart. Secure. Together” principles and will focus on security, communication and innovation.
To support its strategic, security-based and technological goals, Dubai Police has recently announced the development of its data centre and plans to increase its use of artificial intelligence.
The comprehensive and unified data centre project will be a significant reference for statistics and will give priority to ensuring the quality and accuracy of statistical outputs of reports, studies, indicators and early warning signals to assist efficient decision-making.
The strategic plan for artificial intelligence 2018-2021 seeks to integrate artificial intelligence techniques into criminal work by cleverly predicting crimes and criminal investigations and incorporating them into the field of forensics, police operations and the traffic side by promoting safety and security.
Recently visiting Intersec 2018, the leading trade fair for safety, security & fire protection, The Dubai Police General Command (DG) presented its latest innovations in smart services to members of the community, including its Intelligent Police Centre — the first of its kind in the region and the world — along with its “Drive Thru” and “intelligent police mechanic” units.
Designed to reduce the number of people visiting police stations, the “Drive-thru” will provide traffic fine payment services and is part of Dubai Police’s wider strategy: “We are looking into methods to facilitate our services and reduce the number of visitors to police stations,” highlighted Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.
Dubai Police is also devising plans to fit all police vehicles with an eCall system, that in the event of an accident, will enable all voice calls and vehicle data to be transmitted directly to police response centres.
The Police’s artificial intelligence system also enables a device to detect the feelings and movement of objects, which earns the ability to recognise gestures and remote hand signals up to 1.5 meters, just like a human policeman.
The Dubai Police brand sets out to embody the core principles and values based on Innovation – To improve quality of life for UK tourists and expatriates through innovation, Security – To establish a connection with people by providing security, and Connection – To connect with the wider network of UK tourists and expatriates in Dubai.
The new identity aims to strengthen the efficiency and competence of police to deal with any challenges to ensure a safe and stable life for its all community members. The Dubai Police force is committed to building a safe, assured and productive community capable of introducing positive changes and adding value to all aspects that can help improve UK tourists and expatriates’ lives.
Following the announcement of the Dubai Police’s new identity, a range of events have taken place to support the initiative including the release of the new Dubai Police smart app and website. A luxury car show featuring its fleet of impressive patrol cars also welcomed its latest addition, a 12 cylinder, six-litre engine, Bentley Bentayga.
The new identity aligns with the goals of Dubai Police strategic plan 2016-2021 and is in line with Dubai’s 2021 government plan and inspired by the UAE’s 2071 vision.
