Napoli’s first-team stars are in the process of hiring bodyguards as they fear they could be the subject of revenge attacks by their own fans.
Piotr Zielinski and Allan have both been on the receiving end of vandalism with the latter’s house being broken into following the fallout with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Star defender Kalidou Koulibaly has reportedly hired a bodyguard to act as security for himself and his family while Lorenzo Insigne’s wife has allegedly fled Naples.
It comes after Napoli’s players refused to take part in a training retreat which was demanded by De Laurentiis after a poor run of form.
Players now believe the club’s ultras could take matters into their own hands after they failed to abide by their owner’s instructions.
De Laurentiis has threatened to deduct up to 25 per cent of his players’ salaries as he looks to fine his stars, though, it’s believed he would happily sell the entire squad.
